This event is no longer on sale.

Friday December 20

11:00 AM  –  12:00 PM

This workshop, led by Southwest Human Development, explores the world of environmental print and how it is a step to understanding literacy. Participants will learn how reading signs is one of the first indications to the connection that letters and print mean something. Facilitators will model ways to look for print and signs all around us and help support parents with ways to talk about what signs mean or represent. This workshop is deigned for children ages birth to five plus a parent/caregiver and includes story time, an art activity, singing and dancing.  Each child will receive a new book to take home. This program is for children ages birth through 5 and their adult caregiver(s). Admission into the Museum is FREE for pre-registered children and one adult for each child. Regular Museum admission will apply for any additional adults or accompanying children over the age of five. Space is very limited.  www.swhd.org.
