Brain Time for Toddlers

This program emphasizes simple but critical messages about early brain development. Included are stories, songs, rhymes, and one-on-one parent/child playtime with brain-based learning toys and books. The program is designed to teach parents about the importance of a child's early experiences to the wiring of his or her brain in a fun, informal learning setting where play is emphasized. Children 15 months old to 3 years old plus a parent/caregiver are welcome. Admission into the program is free with paid Museum admission. Space is limited.

Your little one will enjoy exploring sounds, textures, and patterns as we explore some sensory-rich toys! The program is designed to teach parents about the importance of a child's early experiences to the wiring of his or her brain in a fun, informal learning setting where play is emphasized. Children birth to 8 months old plus a parent/caregiver are welcome. Admission into the program is free with paid Museum admission. Space is limited.  

 

Brain Time for Babies

Baby Yoga

Through gentle yoga stretches, touch, music, and singing, caretakers and babies are encouraged to bond with one another to support the emotional well being of the baby, as well as, stimulate the nervous system through sensory activities that support touch, and movement.  Both baby and parent will participate in repetitive soothing motions of relaxation techniques, constructive play, and experience some yoga poses and practice breathing to embrace and celebrate the developmental milestones in the first year of the baby’s life. The class is designed for children ages 5 months through 15 months and is taught by Anna Blocher-Rubin. Admission into the program is free with paid Museum admission. Space is limited. 

 

Toddler and Parent Yoga

Introduce your young child to the countless benefits of yoga in this specially designed class that uses games, music, stories and play to explore postures, balance and breath. Quality time with a parent is an added bonus! This class is designed for children ages 15 months-3 years and is taught by Anna Blotter-Rubin. Admission into this program is FREE with paid Museum admission. Space is limited.

Get Ready to Read! Early Literacy Screenings!

Is your child ready for Kindergarten? Get Ready to Read! is an early literacy program designed to help parents ensure that young children are equipped with the fundamental skills necessary for learning to read.  The goal of Get Ready to Read! is to screen children between the ages of 3 years-5 years, for pre-reading skills before they enter kindergarten and provide skill-strengthening activities to ensure their reading success.  Each screening takes about 10 minutes and the kids walk away with pre-reading exercises as well as a free book. Admission to the Museum is FREE when you pre-register for this program. Space is limited.

 

Summer Camp

When school is out, camp is in at the Children's Museum of Phoenix! Featuring hands-on learning, games and activities designed to cultivate the minds and muscles of children ages 5-8. Each unique camp also includes plenty of free play within all three floors of the Museum's imaginative exhibits.

Kindergarten Bootcamp

Is your child entering kindergarten in Fall 2019? If so, join a Kindergarten Bootcamp! This interactive series meets once a week for 7 weeks and gives families a taste of kindergarten. Parents and children learn together the social, academic, and classroom skills needed for school success. Receive free tools and activities each week leading up to Bootcamp graduation.
Registration is required and by registering you agree to attend all 7 weeks. Only register with your child’s name, adult registrations are not necessary. Please click here to register.

PLAY Presents: Mindful Me (ages 2-5)

Come discover mindfulness skills that you and your child can learn and share to create happiness, comfort, and fun through art and yoga classes put on by PLAY (Play and Learn through Art and Yoga). Each week will have a different focus for you and your little one. This program is geared towards children ages 2-5 and their adult caregiver. Clay Day

Join us to play with clay! Create your own 3-D sculpture using clay and a variety of clay tools. Add decorative features to your piece using sequins, jewels, and markers. Admission into the program is $8 for members and $10 for non-members for each participant. Space is limited.

Awakening Creativity: Infant

Introduce your infant to the wonderful world of music as we explore beat, rhythm, rhyme, sensory play, musical instruments and so much more! This week's focus is on classical music and the complexities of instruments that your baby can hear. This program is geared for ages birth to 9 months and their adult caregiver. Awakening Creativity: Toddler

Awakening Creativity is all about the performing arts! This program will offer music, dance and drama classes for toddlers ages 18 months to 3 years! It's FREE with paid Museum admission. Space is limited.

Creative Critters

Create a silly critter with battery-powered flashing eyes using a glue gun and work with specialty materials such as wood, wire, foil, and foam shapes! The class is designed for children ages 4 and up with an adult assisting. Admissions into the program is $8 for members and $10 for non-members. Space is limited.
